A Florida constitutional amendment created a program designed to prepare four-year-olds for kindergarten and build the foundation for their educational success. The program allows a parent to enroll his or her eligible child (four years old by September 1 and residing in Florida) in a free VPK program. St. Paul Catholic School is a provider for the VPK program, allowing students to benefit from free state-supported education in the mornings.
The Pre-K4/VPK classroom is designed around the ability of the child to discover the world around them through play and guided instruction. Our center-based approach allows the child to imitate life through play in the kitchen, grocery, dress up, building, reading, writing, art, puzzles, transportation, and play-doh centers. STEMscopes is an approved Curriculum for the Florida VPK program and offers a hands-on approach to build skills in critical thinking accross the subject areas.
